Marijuana Infused Beer

Beer can be infused with many different flavors. One of the most interesting infusions is marijuana infused beer. This beer uses marijuana to give it a unique flavor. This beer can be brewed and enjoyed at home.

Marijuana infused beer is easy to make. A person is going to need 8.5 pound of malt extract syrup, 1 ounce of Columbus pellet hops, 1 ounce of Cascade pellet hops, another ounce of Centennial pellet hops as well as two ounces of Belma pellet hops. One ounce of leaf hops is needed. A person can choose a piney flavor, earthy type, or other type that they like. Three quarters ounce of marijuana is needed for this beer. Other ingredients include 6 ounces of Victory malt, 8 ounces of Carahell malt, and another 6 ounces of Carapils malt. You can also add slow fermenting yeast in the flavor that you like. These supplies can be found online and any place that sells beer brewing supplies.

To make the infused beer start by boiling two gallons of water to a temperature of 160 degrees. It is recommended to use a large pot for this. Crush the different malts together and put them into a straining bag. Add this bag to the water and allow it to seep for 30 minutes. It is going to need to be stirred occasionally. After this time period remove the bag and it can be discarded.

Take the pot of water off the heat and add the light malt extract syrup. Stir until the syrup is completely dissolved. Once the syrup is dissolved add enough water to the pot to equal six gallons of liquid.

Now that the pot is full and has some flavoring return it to the heat source and bring it to a boil. Add the Columbus pellet hops to the water and allow it to boil for 1 hour.

Once the mixture has been boiling allow it to rest for 45 minutes. Then add the Cascade pellet hops and the Armarillo pellet hops. Boil the mixture for another 15 minutes. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes and remove it from the heat. At this point the Centennial pellet hops, Belma hops, and the marijuana are added. Stir this mixture for a couple of minutes and allow it to chill. Do not add anything to the mixture to aide in the chilling process as it could interfere with the flavor of the beer. Once the beer is cooled down, add the fermenting yeast. Allow the mixture to ferment keeping the temperature between 65-75 degrees.

Once the beer has settled for a little remove the green liquid that is going to form at the top. Be careful not to remove any of the marijuana buds. This beer should be allowed to sit for a period of at least 10 days to extract the full flavor. The beer should be rocked in its vessel once a day to allow the hops to be activated and the beer to take in the flavor of the marijuana. This recipe is designed for use by home brewers.
