State Sen. Mike Folmer will introduce a bipartisan medical marijuana bill in Harrisburg on Monday.

Folmer, a Republican whose 48th Senate District represents Lebanon County, will be joined by Montgomery County Democrat state Sen. Daylin Leach in announcing the bill in the Capitol at 12:30 p.m., according to a news release issued by Leach.

The Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act would legalize the use of medical marijuana by patients as prescribed by attending physicians.

Twenty states currently have legislation making cannabis available for medical use.
